2×07 – Rules of Engagement

What appears to be a gang-related shooting at a gas station brings Jack Raydor into the Murder Room not as a husband with boundary issues but as a court-appointed attorney for a witness with parole violation problems. It starts as a win-win situation for both Captain and Mr. Raydor, but turns into a confrontation soon after. Meanwhile, Rusty is trying to get out of dinner with Kris’ parents.

2×05 D.O.A.

A drug-dealing ex-convict turns up dead, leading to Major Crimes chasing a ghost. Meanwhile, Sharon Raydor’s estranged husband shows up unexpectedly and raises Sharon’s hackles and a lot of questions.

2×03 – Under the Influence

After a long, job-induced hiatus, the Major Crimes review is finally back with more season 2 goodness. It simply is my favorite season of the show. So, without further ado, here is Under the Influence, in which we get a car chase, a blood-covered suspect, a serious contender for the Mother of the Year Award, an annoying Hollywood writer, and a seriously badass Captain Raydor.

2×01 Final Cut

It has been a while since I posted the last review, but life has been pretty crazy, and probably will not calm down much any time soon. I debated waiting and posting the reviews for season two during the summer, in time for the tenth anniversary, but if I keep that up, we’ll still be here in five years, so I’ll post them whenever they are done. I do apologize in advance for the delays between posts that will absolutely happen, but I do hope that you’ll enjoy them regardless. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the episodes.

So, without further ado, the first episode of season two, in which Lieutenant Provenza is grumpy about feeling old, Flynn is trying to buy himself a few more years, and Sharon and Rusty get to deal with a new DDA.

Major Crimes Review

While I was still working on my thesis, I thought that I would like to finally re-watch Major Crimes after many years of not having been able to do it. It’s the kind of project my brain comes up with when I’m trying to avoid actual work. In the end, it took me longer than intended to get started with this, but here it finally is—my little private therapy session. Okay, so it’s not all that private if I share it on the internet, I guess. But I thought maybe there are others who struggle to reclaim the show after the way it ended, or people who simply miss discussing the show, so I’ll put my thoughts about each episode here. Some of those posts might be just short comments, some of them might end up longer, and not all of them will be praise. If you have comments, additional thoughts, or simply want to discuss an aspect of the episode, feel free to drop a comment. I’d love it if this little project brought people back to talking about this show.
